"Won toss, fielding"

OUGHTIBRIDGE 191-8

WATH 196-4
Roddison 66
J. Whitlam 41*

Captain Kirk won the toss and stuck the home side in - he may or may not have lied to the lads about this fact. Barney began to cry into his Tigger.

The Workhorse and Bowling All Rounder opened up - getting through 17 overs between them on the spin. For Alex this proved to be a piece of cake - he's used to grafting for ages without getting any.

Nasser made a double change - bringing on himself and the recalled Shifty, fresh from his exile. They both struck immediately - I know this because I was watching live on play cricket. Shifty bowled a nice 7 over spell, picking up a couple of poles, as Wanger settled into his traditional 15 overs. He finished with three boring wickets, as he continued his good form. Dipper looked to struggle as the home side began to up the rate, but the lads toiled manfully and as Workhorse and BAR both claimed a wicket late on, the lads were happy - or so I was told.

Barney and Young Cheese continued their opening partnership, putting on about 40 for the first wicket. This time it was Barney who fell first, dismissed for being old and injured. Probably.

Roddo joined Young Cheese and the two men scored quickly initially, but Y.C. probably chipped a spinner to mid off after looking in no trouble. He also nicked off and didn't walk, allegedly.

Toad met Roddo in the middle, and the Two Squirrels shared a vital stand - Roddo joining the Bomb Squad with a splendid six. Toad was watchful at first, but then he's always watchful. I couldn't tell you how he was out, but it was probably LBW to a spinner and fired off by Phil.

B.A.R. set off like a train, finding the Third Man boundary with considerable ease - a true skill as there were 3 slips, 2 backward points and a fly slip. He scored at a run a ball and took the game beyond The Bridge. Roddo finally fell with 10 to win for his first Wath half century - and it was left to Plater to see us home. He played two marvellous shots - a first ball cover drive, and a delightful 5 wides to win the game. He then had his tea and was snapped by Toad - like Plater's do.

Man Of The Day - Don't really know, but BOWLING ALL ROUNDER only went for 20 odd off his 10 overs, and then saw us home with a mature 40. He then downed a pint with Mason live on video without spilling much.

Toad Of The Day - Take your pick from The Covid 3. Brad, Swall and Blunky all sat at home doing nowt. Let's be fair, it's probably me because I've also wasted twenty minutes today writing this thing. I've nowt else to do.
